Lacock & Laziness

At the end of June we took two days off work for our 5th wedding aniversary & spent the time ignoring the jobs that needed doing. On the Thursday we headed off to Lacock Abbey as it was somewhere we had passed many times but had never stopped for a look.

As it was a little drizzly we started off by having a look around the Fox Talbot museum which was right up Tim's street as it was all about photography - the guy who invented the technic of negitives or something. By the time we had done that the sun had come out so we went for a wander around the picturesque village of Lacock with seemed very familiar at times as it has been used in a few films & TV programs.

We had some lunch. It was sunny enough to have it outside & everything! After that we went into the abbey grounds for a look around. We found a sunny spot in the rose garden to relax in for a while....

The abbey is a mix of house & old abbey bits & the cloister part was used in one of the Harry Potter films (don't ask me which - I haven't a clue).

Anyway, it was a really lovely day. Very relaxed.

Ignite BBQ chananigans

Well the Ignite BBQ was eventful!

The BBQ was maned by Paul Brind and Matt/sooze fisher... Great food as usual.

The real fun started when a pogo stick was found... Its amazing what you can do with a pogo stick: the lawn is now aerated, the old path has started to be demolished and Ben ate some grass.

Then Monica said something about a game called Donkey... Its sounded so intriguing it needed a demonstration... So Monica and Arnaud swung their tushes ... only Video can truly show how funny this was. (thanks to Dave)

Then a lesson by the Master of the Potato swing:

Hours of practice, sweat and tears went into perfecting that swing!

Brilliant fun!
